I'm a writer based in Austin, Texas by way of Oklahoma. I have a Bachelor of Arts in French, Anthropology, and African-American Studies. My passion for languages and intercultural awareness has led to many professional and personal adventures: I've done marketing and social media for an Austin-based study abroad company, taught ESL in Ecuador, led high school language immersion programs in southwestern France, and, thanks to my very poor Spanish, accidentally eaten cow brains more than once.
Freelance writing commerically and creatively since 2015, I've contributed content for Austin-area startups and nonprofits as well as global lifestyle and travel brands, partnered with a community memoir service, and written stories for a wide range of publications. My essays, profiles, and reported features have appeared in Fodor's Travel, USA Today Travel, Misadventures Magazine, Backpacker Magazine, Austin Monthly, Austin Woman, CultureMap Austin, Luxury Living International, Catalyst Wedding Co, On Your Terms, Go Overseas, and more. Check out my TinyLetter, hungry feminist, for my thoughts on food, feminism, and everything in between.
